What is the working principle of Guangdong Robike 3D wheel aligner/quad aligner equipment?

The working principle of the Guangdong Lubake 3D Wheel Aligner, also known as the 3D Digital Imaging Four-Wheel Aligner, is based on the principles of perspective in physics combined with computer information processing technology. As an object moves closer, its visual size appears to increase, a phenomenon known as the “near larger, far smaller” effect. This principle allows for precise measurement of an object’s distance, with an accuracy of up to +/-0.01mm.
The device operates by attaching four target reflective plates to the vehicle’s four wheel rims. As the wheels roll, a series of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) surrounding a CCD camera illuminate the target plates, which then reflect infrared light back to the camera. The camera continuously captures images of the patterned graphics on the reflective plates as the vehicle moves forward. The computer analyzes the changes in these geometric patterns to calculate the corresponding positioning parameters of the wheels and chassis, such as toe, camber angle, and distance values, which are then displayed on the screen.
The 3D aligner uses three mutually perpendicular planes determined by the wheel axle as the positioning reference: the axle plane, the wheel plane, and the body plane. This method provides more accurate measurement data and solves many problems that traditional alignment methods cannot address. It offers a convenient eccentric compensation procedure and comprehensive functionality. The reflective plates (targets) contain no precision components and are calibrated once at the factory, requiring no regular recalibration, making them easy to use and maintain.
The measurement function of the 3D product is robust, including:
Wheelbase, track width, axle offset, and wheel offset;
Vehicle height measurement;
Maximum steering angle measurement;
Caster trail, offset (scrub radius), and kingpin inclination measurement.
The entire standard process takes only 2-3 minutes. The conventional requirements for installing the Guangdong Lubake 3D Wheel Aligner are:
Installation site length > 6.5m
Installation site width > 4m
Installation site height > 3.5m
